Flashback Friday: Mustard Shirt

"Thanks to you, I am now becoming obsessed with mustard - and I'm not talking about the kind I put on a sandwich!"- Carolyn, a Facebook fan. Well Carolyn, that might be due in part to me posting 10 looks with this mustard shirt (Gap, $30) in a year's time. It's almost embarrassing how much I wear/post outfits with it - I was afraid you guys might have started to notice? At any rate, here's a look back at all the combinations I've done with this shirt - starting with the winter/fall looks on top and the more summery looks down below. I've paired mustard with just about everything from neon brights to muted shades of brown. It truly is an "anything goes" kind of color. Do you love mustard? Which look is your favorite?

1. LOFT mustard shirt, $29.50
2. Rachel Roy mustard blouse, $79
3. Christian Michaels via Zappos mustard blouse, $39.99

I'm not that big of a fan of mustard, just because I never think most yellows work on me. I'm in love with rust-colored things though. I actually really like all of your combinations, it shows that a distinct color can be very easily remixed! I think my favourites are the ligth blue pencil skirt or the brown one. Great post!

Mustard is definitely a "go with everything" color.  My favorite is your 4th look for winter.  It's an unexpected color combo, but it works so well together :)

I happen to love that shirt.  My favorites are the brown boots, light blue pencil skirt and pink shorts.

Great post!  I have a mustard top and I'm feeling inspired to get more creative with it!  My favorite is with the teal skirt and sweater - I never would have thought of that!

I love this color! It matches everything! I am loving the second look in from the left on the top.  I love that the outfit is made up of almost entirely neutral/muted colors.  SO cute!

My favorites are the outfit with the leopard print cardigan and the one with the gray skirt and colorful scarf.  I'm not sure mustard is a color that looks good on me, but it definitely looks good on you!

I love the animal print cardigan, and any with the bright colors. After seeing you post with the mustard cardigan, i've had that on my list for awhile and finally picked on up last week! Thanks for all the great tips!

I love your "Flashback Friday" series. It provides a lot of inspiration for my own looks. You definitely rock the mustard color. I've always been told it's a bad color for blondes, but it may be your great tan that does it for you. My favorite is the one with the burgundy skirt and leopard cardigan. Meeeoooow!

I actually like the mustard shirt with the purplish skirt the best which is surprising because I've never worn anything like that before.  I don't even own a mustard piece of clothing but I wish I did.

J, I love the outfit with he turquoise skirt and darker turquoise cardigan. Could you possibly do a post with guidelines on how to wear color combos like that? I have a red pencil skirt that I've seen paired with a magenta top, but I'm just not ire I have the guts to wear it like that! I need some confidence buildin from you, perhaps. Thanks for the great posts!

I am obsessed with the mustard color right now too! I just bought these Chinese Laundry wedges with a mix of mustard and orange. I can't wait to wear them with different colors like you did!
