That said, I love learning about how people do their makeup, so I thought I would suck it up and share my routine with you guys. :-) If you have a favorite makeup tip, or if you've done a post on your makeup routine please leave a link in the comment section! Would love to know how you ladies get the job done!

Great video! Applying liquid foundation with a brush is really great. Sephora brand foundation brushes are affordable, feel great on your skin and provide an even application without having a sponge absorb/waste too much of the foundation.
I swear by my Maybelline Coverstick($5?) and EsteƩ Lauder Double Wear Foundation($32?)... (Also, Victoria's Secret Pink actually makes a really wonderful large bronzer for only like $12!)
I've tried many things over the years and these are by far THE best for a flawless face!
I have some sponges but have yet to use it for applying foundation.
Also? You're so fast with the mascara. I have to go SO slow. I always get it everywhere and poke my eye out with it.
Shmegs - awesome tip! I swear that sponges absorb more makeup than what actually gets applied to my face. I will definitely check it out.
Awesome video J! I usually would apply my eyeliner before mascara. I very seldom use mascara anyways.
I actually blogged about my best new tip today! It's for under eye circles... Http://psychedforstyle.blogspot.com :) kiki
Too funny you posted this today because I was just thinking this morning about how I need to post a makeup tutorial soon!
I just discovered some great new makeup products and one of them is MAC eye primer. It basically seals in your eye makeup for the entire day!
I also use Neutrogena moisturizer. I've found it's an inexpensive yet quality product. I'll have to try that eye makeup remover by Loreal you mentioned. I've been looking for an inexpensive one that works well!
love your mascara tip! I always put my foundation on my fingers and then on my face so that it doesnt get soaked up in a sponge.
great video!
One of the best tips I learned was from a model. When 'taming' or 'grooming' eyebrows, the best brush to use is a toothbrush! The bristles are stiffer than a traditional eyebrow brush and they last forever! I have used a toothbrush since I was in high school and I graduated over 13 years ago (don't worry, I change the brush out every 6 months or so). I get a lot of weird looks from people who see me use it, but I swear by it!
Nice video! One of the things that I use is Make-up primer. My skin is oily but with make-up primer foundation stays fresh whole day. I use eyeliner before mascara. Most importantly, I use a lash curler and a brow highlighter(lighter eyeshadow under the eyebrow) if not eyeshadow - It brightens the face.
Nice Video. I am new bee too the world of makeup. Recently I have started exploring. I use most of the Neutrogena Products. As I have oily n acne prone skin. Neutrogena Acne Soap and Concealer works wonder. I like the way u applied Mascara. I always fight while removing the waterproof mascara. As I apply directly.. now I know the trick will try on soon.
Cheers!!!
Merle Norman has the best eyeliner ever. Super smooth and goes on sooooooooooo easy. You really should try it. I used to use Cover Girl until I discovered Merle Norman.
Great Post.

Maybe I'm missing something but I totally don't get the double mascara trick. Why not just use multiple coats of the waterproof since taking it off requires an additional step anyway?
Awesome tips and product recommendations ladies!!
sundaze, waterproof mascara is REALLY hard to wash off in my experience. Wearing non-waterproof underneath makes the mascara rub right off when you wash your face! And when you are able to wash more gently, it keeps more eyelashes in tact and makes them look even better overall. :-)
Great video, I will definitely be trying the mascara trick next time!
J, Next time you apply foundation run your sponge under some water so it's damp then put the foundation on it. This way the sponge is already saturated and won't absorb all your foundation. I used to do this before I graduated to brushes.
For me the best way how to apply foundation is with my fingers. Sponge absorbs too much foundation in my opinion.
I have combination skin. Oily in T-zone and normal on cheeks. So I always use powder or mineral makeup to set foundation. It will last longer. :)
Thanks for the tips! Have you checked out Almay's eyeshadow combos for specific eye colors? I have hazel eyes and I do not like heavy eyeshadow colors so I grab the combo with the pink, brown for the crease area and a gold shimmer color below the brow. Looks very natural and is easy to apply. I also use an eyelash curler, and a brow pencil. They used a brow pencil when getting my makeup done for my wedding and it was barely noticeable but made a huge difference when I look at my pictures.
I apply eyeliner before my mascara in black and then apply a light brown on the bottom for a little more definition. I have also used white eyeliner on the bottom to make my eyes pop if I feel I look really tired. I know it sounds weird but it is a great trick! I also recently used a dark purple (to contrast the green in my eyes) eyeliner - it is hard to tell it is purple once you have it on but it definitely plays up my eye color.
I actually use that same concealer! I love reading about makeup tips and tricks so please post some more! :)
Love the post! It's always fun to find out new ideas. Lucky magazine actually has some great (though cheezy) videos on their Web site that help me with updating my makeup.
Also, wanted to mention that I used to use sponges too until I found out that they hold a lot of bacteria if you don't use a new one every time. I'm into the powder foundation now. And a great tip I learned through selling Arbonne makeup is to make sure you clean your neck the same way you clean your face. It gets just as much sun/damage as your face but is usually neglected.
Not for everyday, but a possible makeup tip nonetheless. I was told that for special occasions, such as weddings, were you will be getting professionally photographed to NOT wear moisturizer with SPF. The SPF reflects light which is great for sun protection, but it also reflects the camera flash which can make your face look much lighter (white) than your body in the photographs.
I have to say J, Covergirl is one of my favorite lines. It is the best discount line makeup and the only one I am not allergic too! I use Covergirl, along with a few Mac and Smashbox products. Covergirl makes a great Clean pressed powder and I am like you, I have used Covergirl Perfect Point Eyeliner for 15 years now! In my opinion it is the best eyeliner out there. CG's mascara and concealer are also one of the bestI have tried.
Oh and try some of Ulta's brand lipsticks, they have tons of sheer colors and it is truly moisturizing. For some reason CG just didn't get it right with the lipsticks.
Thanks for sharing your tips!
I love www.jseverydayfashion.com! Here I always find a lot of helpful information for myself. Thanks you for your work.

When applying eye makeup u shouldnt pull ur skin. Never rub or pull ur eyes I'm am 33 most my friends have wrinkles from rubbing ur their eyes they say they don't but they do. The only time they should rub eyes is to take off eye make up. Also using a scrub every day is not good
I love your style by the way
I'll have to try your mascara trick, thanks! I have the same eye makeup remover and I love it too. You might want to try wearing a headband during your routine. It really gets my hair out of the way for both washing and applying and I think it would help you too.
I started using my fingertips a few months after this video. Much prefer it that way now!
sundaze, waterproof mascara is REALLY hard to wash off in my experience. Wearing non-waterproof underneath makes the mascara rub right off when you wash your face! And when you are able to wash more gently, it keeps more eyelashes in tact and makes them look even better overall. :-)
Jen, does the lipstick stay on? I tried a Revlon lipstick a few months ago and it came off very quick. I tend to pay a little more for lipstick but would love to find an affordable one that stays put. You always look so good. Thanks for sharing :-)
I always wore lip gloss up until discovering this lipstick and I would say it stays just as well, if not better. It's less gooey, which is nice, too. I have at least 2 friends that have started wearing the same shade because of me! :-) It's very sheer, and neutral. Definitely recommend!
